How to survive in the maze of complicated subway system in Tokyo.

As a guide in Tokyo, I sometimes receive requests for help in familiarizing with the complicated subway system of Tokyo as much as possible in four hours without being too greedy about destinations. Sometimes, the request comes from the client, and sometimes, it is from me, based on my understanding of the client's wishes. Either way, many travelers want to quickly overcome Tokyo's complicated subway system and walk around freely. Few people arrive in Tokyo after a long flight and can move independently from scratch. When I arrived in a major European city, I thought, "Well, what should I do? How can I get around smoothly?
