#183 Seeing Mount Fuji
The same mountain, never quite the same view.
From every direction, at every angle.
Depending on the time of day, the air, and the sun’s position,
Mount Fuji reveals a completely different face. Each moment offers its own view.
What you see in Mount Fuji reflects your own sensibility.
So, what do you feel?
Perhaps it is the reassurance that comes from knowing it is always there.
At the same time, it can surprise us with how much it changes.
Even knowing the photographs may end up looking similar,
I still find myself raising the camera again and again.
Only now, nearly two hundred years later,
I understand what Hokusai must have felt.

Hokusai is one of my favourite artists and yes i can relate to the fascination for Mt.Fuji (I’ve had a lifelong fascination much before I ever got to visit and now I know
I’ll always revisit when i get to Japan again) - https://substack.com/@nushenbaihe/note/c-203888003?r=5a2cze&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action
