By the way I had two international flights last year where I ended up arriving back at Haneda fairly late and so I stayed at the Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, which you can walk to from the international terminal (T3). Obviously it depends on the date and time but the single room I booked was pretty cheap for a one night stay (no breakfast) when booked a week or so in advance and it was a lot better than trying to figure out how to get into Tokyo at ~10pm
You are right, Francis. If you stay short, such as over a night, it is better to stay next to the T3. Even if it is half an hour out of the airport, it is too much. My post was based on the situation of staying longer. If you search for them, you can find more reasonable hotels than I listed.
Absolutely. I just thought it was worth pointing out. Even the hotels near Kamata, which are generally cheaper, are far more hassle to get to. If it's 1000 or 2000 yen more to stay at the airport, it's worth it, just from that.

I agree with you. Finding a hotel in Tokyo is a bit of a hassle, anyway, if it is your first time visiting.
