I'm afraid this year we may have a disastrous cherry blossom-viewing season, what with all those rainy days starting from the 22nd. I hope the weather is going to change at the last moment. Yesterday I went for a walk along the Onda River near my house and the flowers were just starting to come out.
In the past, my obsession was films. I used to go to the cinema every week, sometimes twice a week. My current obsession is walking, specifically following the route of the Tokyo subways lines. I have walked four so far.
Thanks for your comment, Gianni. I am also concerned with the unpromising weather this year. If the rain is unavoidable, I'd rather have it at the earliest stage. The later it rains, the more damage is caused to the petals.
Following the route of the Tokyo Subways lines sounds very interesting. Whatever the style of walking, I like it.
My daughter just sent me pictures of sakura at Ueno Park and I could NOT believe the crowds! Everyone had spread their picnic blankets right next to each other. I think your bike ride will be a much nicer way to experience the sakura!
I think the normal HANAMI will come back after three years of restrictions. Yesterday I was at Chidorigafuchi which is the north of Imperial Palace and there were so many people even though the weather wasn't the best. It looks like I have to postpone the bike ride due to the bad weather this Saturday.

It's also something I can do without a smartphone, thanks to the excellent road signs and a few kind and helpful people.
This kind of new finding is something that smartphones can't do.
