It is so wonderful that Japan supports the traditional arts of its history, I wish countries in the west did the same❕

Thanks for your comment, Lauren. Keeping tradition is a critical issue even in Japan, and we must do something about it. There is always something that we can learn from the West.

Just reading your newsletter and encountering this craftsmanship somehow made me feel happy. My husband is running in a marathon in Niigata this coming weekend but I will not be going with him. Maybe next year!

From Tsubame-Sanjo Station, the neighboring city of Nagaoka holds a nationally famous fireworks display every year on August 2-3. It may be a good idea to coincide with these events.
