Japan has so many fantastic mountains beyond Mt. Fuji, which is way too overcrowded so it’s great that you have highlighted Yatsugatake. The photos are beautiful and as always the details you provided are really useful.
It was a pity that I couldn't highlight the summit of Mt. Io and the path on the ridge due to the thick fog. But I am delighted to hear that you could feel the mountain's atmosphere. As you said, there are so many beautiful mountains that foreign travelers still need to include.
I posted about Mt Mizugaki last autumn, and I want to return there this year.
Hello Tanikawa-San. We are so grateful for the information you share with us from your amazing country.
Would you please recommend a top-10 of places to visit outside the main tourist sites (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagashaki, Hiroshima, Nara) that represent traditional and old Japan?
If you have already done so to an older post I would be most grateful if you point me to the right direction.
Thanks for your comment. It is a difficult question, but I will start with the 3 places that instantly pop up in my mind. Please don't worry about the written order.
Thanks for your comment, Gianni. Both places are great. If you can pick the right time for the cherry blossoms, Hirosaki is an even more excellent place to visit. I have previously posted about this area as "Cherry blossoms and snow at the same time."

Not to steal Tanikawa-san's job, but these are a couple of places I visited last year:
Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture
